On June 19, 2018, Antwon Rose was murdered by East Pittsburgh police officer Michael Rosfeld while Rose was fleeing from a car that was allegedly involved in a hit and run a few minutes prior. The events of Rose’s death took place only a week after he was trained and fired by the University of Pittsburgh Police. The trial began on March 19, 2019 and was concluded after four days, with the jury deliberating for four and a half hours. Rosfeld was found not guilty of any of the charges brought against him and will walk free after taking the life of a seventeen year-old child who lived his life confused and afraid. The Fourth Wave stands in support of Antwon Rose’s family as they continue to fight for justice. Pictured is the poem Rose wrote in 2016 detailing his fears about the prevalent issue of police brutality in the United States.
